She worked at various financial institutions at the retail level in management capacity; and with  Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, City of Detroit, Comerica Bank in their respective Audit Departments where she performed extensive quality assessments on internal audits as well as with GM Financial as an International Operations Senior Corporate Auditor where she conducted business and regulatory internal audits for the region.  Nicole has had the opportunity to work abroad in Brazil and Belgium in her role as an Internal Auditor and work remotely with seven other European and Latin America countries.

Nicole has served on the Board of Directors for the Association of Government Accountants (AGA)-Detroit local Chapter from 2007-2011 in the role of Public Service Director and President-Elect as well as on the Board for the Senior Accountants, Analysts and Appraisals Association (SAAA) and on the Board with the National Black MBA Association(NBMBAA) as the Student Affairs Director.  Nicole launched the first Employee Resource Group for the City of Detroit as the Chair of “WIN”-Women Inspiring Network, where she facilitated a virtual financial forum for the City of Detroit Employees along with many other programs and worked collaboratively with other groups.  Nicole is a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors, Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, Southeast Michigan Chapter Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, NAACP, NBMBAA, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Detroit Alumnae Chapter and recently elected as Chair of the Internal Audit Committee along with being a Notary for the state of Michigan.
